The pansy are a large group of hybrid plants cultivated as garden flowers. The pansies are derived from the Viola species. Pansy breeding has produced a wide range of flower colors: yellow, gold, orange, purple, violet, red, white, and even black (dark purple). Many have large showy face markings. And a large number of bicoloured flowers have also been produced.
