Magnolia is a large genus of about 210 flowering plant species of the family Magnoliaceae. The flower is named after French botanist Pierre Magnol. Magnolia is an ancient plant and dates before the bees, fossiled species being found nowadays dating about 20 million years ago. In Japan, the leaves of magnolia are used for wrapping food and as cooking dishes and also for medicine purpose.
